Dev in production!
Turns out its not smart to build in production! Who would have guessed!
Truthfully, I had money near the end of the month and just wanted to get the ball rolling. I knew no one would see this site at the start, so I figured I could update to my hearts content and fix things as I went. But now I am realizing how dumb that was, and how shortsighted lol. I am usually a lot better about planning, but I was eager and it got the best of me.
Working to make the site more like how I'd want it. Namely:
- Posts like this one should have a url like "nicweyand.com/posts/{slug}/" where {slug} is the title.
- A table of contents for longer pieces.
- Various theme issues I didn't fix beforehand.
- A working podcasts page with players + an RSS feed.
- And a public RSS for all posts!
- A better gallery page (the current one is just a page with nothing showing up lol)
- Some functionality stuff like better accessibility features (namely keyboard navigation and visual description tags for all images)
- A proper site map & robots.txt.
- Wacky cool stuff I am experimenting with UwU!
So if there aren't updates regularly... that is why. I am sorry, I should have continued to work in Ghost Local instead of trying to work in production. I am still very happy the site is live and frankly I have no regrets so far, despite my silliness UwU!
